Curriculum & materials Grades 1–8 English Language Curriculum and Materials Revision

Desk review, field supervision, syllabus revision, scope and sequence, and revision of student books and teacher guides for Ethiopia's Grades 1–8 English curriculum, with USAID's READ TA project.

Between 2015 and 2017 Sisay worked on the review and revision of Ethiopia's Grades 1–8 English language curriculum with the Ministry of Education and USAID's READ TA project, implemented by RTI International.

  • February 2015: desk review of English curriculum materials and supervision of field data collection on how student books and teacher guides were used in classrooms, with recommendations for improvement.
  • July 2016 to February 2017: desk review and data collection for the curriculum revision.
  • December 2016 to August 2017, as Senior English Language Curriculum Development Expert: revised syllabi, designed scope and sequence frameworks, and improved student textbooks and teacher guides.
  • November 2017: expert training on the revised Grades 1–8 English curriculum.
